Satellites Underway for ANZPT Queenstown

PokerStars Qualifiers have already won two of the three legs in ANZPT's inaugural season.
By | Jun 8, 2009

Satellites for the upcoming Queenstown leg of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour are running at PokerStars, giving online poker players the chance to win an event buy-in.

The prize package for the July 21-25 event, being held at SkyCity Casino Queenstown, also includes hotel accommodation and expense money.

Alternatively, players can pay the NZ$2500 buy-in directly on-site from July 1, subject to availability, when registration opens to the general public.

PokerStars qualifier Chris Levick won the third leg of the series at Melbourne's Crown Casino last week, beating out a field of 218 for the AU$158,000 first prize.

Levick was one of 61 competitors to qualify for the tournament at PokerStars.

The Queenstown tournament will be the fourth and final installment of the inaugural ANZPT season, following the previous tournaments in Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

The upcoming tournament in Queenstown will be the first time an ANZPT tournament has been held in New Zealand.
